There have been so many changes here at Sassy Cat Chat! I’m in love with our new look. It’s been a long two weeks and lots of late nights. Many thanks to the I.T. department (the hubby) for helping and dealing with my crazy.
There are lots of things coming up this week. First of all, it’s MONDAY, so that means it’s time for…
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
This week I’ve been working on Missing Pieces from Heather Gundenkauf. I’m nearly at the end..and shame on me for taking so long to finish this book. It’s truly no reflection on the book – it’s great, I’ve just been tied up with all the other goings on.
Coming up for this week I have stacks to choose from including a new one sent from St. Martins Press. I cannot wait to rip into this one and I think it just took over the top of my pile.
A big event is coming up this weekend. This Saturday is the April edition of the Dewey’s 24 hr Readathon.
If you are unfamiliar with this even then I highly suggest you head over to their website and check it out, there are tons of way to participate. This is the first time I’ll be joining and I’m super excited.
Over the weekend I got my hanging planter for the front porch all fixed up. I think they will look really nice once all the plants start to fill out. The hanging planters are all done in purple. I picked Tidal Wave Silver and Bordeaux Purple petunias with purple verbena and hanging creeping jenny for greenery. My next challenge is making a new herb bed in the back yard and I’m hoping that gets finished this week.
Here’s to next week being MUCH less eventful than this past week has been. Happy Monday

I love that you have started your hanging baskets already. I think that we are three weeks away from anything but pansies outside. Then we take a drive to Lancaster to get full grown plants that I gently plop into pots! They are not that expensive and grown by Mennonite and Amish growers…it’s worth the drive because the plants are so lovely!
I’m a bit early this year. But any danger of really cold nights is pretty well gone now. I am still waiting to pick up some warm weather herbs (like basil) for a few weeks but I just got jumpy when I drove by the stores and saw ALL THE PLANTS. It’s an addiction LOL
I loved Missing Pieces….and am drawn to the book All Is Not Forgotten. I love your new look here…have a great week. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Thanks Laurel!
I hope we both love that book!
These purple flowers are striking. I admire someone who knows her flora. I had to Google everything to see what it looked like, LOL.
Thank you! I think some time working in a flower shop served me well.
