What’s Going On…
Monday, Monday Monday. Some weeks I don’t even notice (or care) that it’s a brand new work week. Some weeks it’s yet again time for the airport drop off routine. Fortunately, this week the hubs is home. As the holidays get closer travel is such a nightmare so I’m hoping he gets to spend the next few weeks here. Of course, it does make it harder to smuggle in all those packages 🙂
This weekend was spent in blissful laziness. I dare not go fight the traffic and mad shoppers on a weekend this close to Christmas. My personal goal is to have all my shopping done by Friday. All things ordered or purchased so they can be wrapped next week some time.
I have decided that I finally need to get around to putting up curtains. We’ve been here a year! So I spent some time on Sunday and finally made a purchase for the living room and dining room. I still need rods. I have what I need for the bedroom – just have to have them hemmed and hang them up. I don’t know why window treatments are so damn expensive!! This is probably why I’ve neglected to bother buying anything. I also have to hit up family for the hemming situation. I don’t sew – not even a little bit. Reattaching a button stretches my abilities.

Simon is now on a mission to become Instagram famous. He’s got his own account set up and is on the hunt for followers. He’s so dang cute that I don’t think he will have an issue finding any. You can become an admiring fan on Instagram.
In Book News…
This has been an interesting week for me. I received bookmail of two novels that I was really looking forward to! I have already finished The Whistler by John Grisham. I’ve been a fan since way before the likes of Julia Roberts, Matthew Mcconaughey, or Susan Sarandon graced the silver screen in these book to movie conversions.
Number 50 is in sight!!! I have two books that I’m in the middle of and I need to get those wrapped up. That will get me to my reading challenge goal. I know my goal is small by some standards but it was a close call for me – as you can see. I don’t read that quickly and I don’t enjoy a book that I’m trying to blaze through. To the readers of 150 or more books per year – more power to you – but it ain’t gonna be me.
My goal for the coming year is to be much more diligent about the blog. And to be more timely with reviews. I’m setting a goal to review each book I read within a week of finishing it. It sounds easy enough but we shall see.
That does it for me today! Hope your week is off to a great start.
