What’s Going On…
Most notable today is the heat! OMG we are set for another day or two of record breaking heat. I love summer and baking in the sunshine but we’ve had a few days around that 90 mark and it’s a little too soon for that! Lord help us all in August.
I was lucky enough to have a a really nice in ground pool in my backyard growing up. I was probably around 7 when we put it in and I lived in it!! I still love to swim. As most things, I didn’t really realize how fortunate I was for having that pool – it was always a given. God I miss that pool! Someday I’d love to have another. Yes they are expensive – yes they are work. I didn’t have a lot of ‘chores’ growing up (Thanks Mom!) but helping take care of the pool was my domain. I never really minded though. Skimming and vacuuming were an excuse to haul on a bathing suit and work on my tan. I learned how to open and close it with my dad.
Whole days spent outside in the sunshine reading, chatting with my friends who came over to swim. Lunches of peanut butter and jelly in lawn chairs. Our dog even loved to swim!! We had a cocker spaniel named Tamra and you could NOT keep her out of the pool! She even knew how to dry herself off on a towel.
Yes. Someday. A pool.
In Bookish News…
It’s Wednesday! I’m loving the new WWW post so here’s this week:

What are you currently reading?
I finally cracked this one open last night! I was not the biggest fan of Girl On The Train. That being said – I was up past 2 a.m. reading this one! I’m loving it!! The characters are all shady people but I like that! Lots of mystery surrounding a river in a small town where women seem to meet an untimely demise. I’m about half way through and I will totally finish this today!
What did you recently finish reading?
I have been a Grisham fan for years! I’m talking since Pelican Brief. I’ve read every one of his books with the exception of the Theodore Boone novels for young readers. I’m always first in line for a new Grisham novel! Some I’ve loved, some have been so so but I’ll always read them. This one was so good! It’s not really a classic legal thriller but it’s a great story. Shady black market book dealers and stolen Fitzgerald manuscripts. It was a very original story and I devoured it.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’ve read some really amazing books this month! I’m not really committing to my next read until I see how Into The Water wraps up. I have many, many choices!
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!
