What’s Going On…
Hi all! Today I’m excited to share my new, and hopefully fantastic, idea for a fun blogger link up. Of course, if you don’t have a book blog of your own – you’re welcome to share your thoughts in the comments too. So let’s get right into it and start talking about books and food!
Have you ever read a book that just made you crave a certain food or drink? Did that book set in Italy make you seriously need a huge plate of pasta? Did a character indulge in a decadent slice of chocolate cake and now you need a piece ASAP? Maybe the book you’re reading would pair well with a glass of red or a frosty pint. Well, welcome to Book Cravings! Designed to be a fun way to share all your bookish food pairings, cravings and inspirations we’ll link up each Friday to chat about our reading and snacking life. Because books should always come with snacks.
This week I’m pairing up a book I read over the summer with all the yummies that went along with it!
The summer house by Jenny Hale was a great feel good, beach read set in the North Carolina Outer banks. I have vacationed there for many years and am lucky enough to be familiar with the area. However, a specific burger joint mentioned in the book had escaped my radar. So naturally when Jenny described the huge and tasty cheeseburgers served up at The Beach Bum burger joint in Kill Devil Hills, I had to find out more! Sadly, it looks like the place has closed down but my search lead me to a dive called Art’s Place. I’ve added this to my bucket list.
There is also something about a beachy read that makes me crave seafood. Especially crab cakes! Crab cakes are essential summer good eats.
Now it’s your turn! Link up your blog post or leave a comment about what book sent you on a food binge.
Hope to see you next Friday !
Arts place is great
Glad to hear that book is a good one . I have it on my Kindle but haven’t read it.
Yeah it was very cute!
Ooh love this idea! I’ll definitely join in next week! 😀
Looking forward to it!
Great idea and oh I know just the one: https://thebelgianreviewer.wordpress.com/2016/08/09/blog-tour-review-the-sunflower-cottage-breakfast-club/
As I mentioned in my review, I really longed for all those cakes and stuff on the breakfast table. I don’t eat a lot for breakfast but when I’m staying in a hotel I seem like a different person and want to eat all that’s there
Thanks for sharing! I hope this is something fun we can do weekly. I love a yummy breakfast spread too!
A great idea! You are always thinking of fun stuff!
