Let’s Start the New Year Right! 1

In trying to get 2019 off in the right direction, I’m starting off with a new blog post!

As you know, I had to step back from both reading and my blog in the last half of 2018. Sometimes we all need a break! I have to say that I’m not terribly sad to see 2018 walk out the door. I’m ready for a new year.

While I’m glad to be back, the time away let me get some much needed time to do other life things. I needed an opportunity to rediscover my love for blogging and reading. I look forward to getting back into the groove of things though, as I have missed reading and my blog terribly.

First things first, WOW was I surprised to log in and find that things around the Word Press world have changed! Pardon me while I play catch up and figure out the new editor!

Second, I have some books that I’m in the middle of and will hopefully be sharing some lovely reads with you soon! Good things come to those who wait 🙂

Third, here are some of the highlights as to what the heck I’ve been doing since I stepped back in August:

  • Bathroom Remodeling! The hubs and I have made MAJOR progress on our never-ending project. No, it’s not finished yet! But it’s soooo close! I can’t wait to finally wrap this job up and move on to something else. However, I’m going to need some time off before anymore DIY house projects get started. I’ve learned a lot, but I can safely say that it will be awhile before I’m ready to tackle anything else. Our master bath overhaul has consumed about 10 months of my life. It’s been worth it, but my goodness I never expected it to be hard.
  • Sassy Cat Crew! The crew is all good! We’ve celebrated some birthdays and I can hardly believe that Grace is 11 and my little Lexie is 10 years old. Having your children grow up makes you feel old! They are all still wild and don’t seem a day over five. Where has the time gone?
  • Family and Travel! We were very blessed this year to be able to spend a lot of time with the hub’s side of the family. We were able to celebrate the first birthday of a niece, and spend time with those that we don’t see often. It’s always good to re-connect with family

What’s on tap for your 2019? For me, I’m soon to celebrate a big birthday. I don’t feel like I should be 40 quite yet. I think I need another year to process this.

I’m also very lucky to have two big vacations in the works for next year. We will be spending a week in Las Vegas with some of the hub’s family. I’ve never been to Vegas and I’m really excited about the opportunity to go.

My wonderful mom is also blessing me with a trip to celebrate my 40th birthday. We are going on a mother-daughter cruise! I’m so excited I can hardly wait until April. We are visiting Key West, Florida and Havana, Cuba. I’m sure it will be amazing and I’m very lucky to have a mom that loves me so much. I’m looking forward to spending the time with her and sharing the experience.

I hope you all have big plans for 2019 and I can’t wait to get back in touch with you all. Here’s to a GREAT year!
